Edgar Berlanga has built his reputation by doing what few fighters can—ending fights before the final bell. Known for his explosive power, relentless pressure, and fearless mentality, the Brooklyn native has become one of boxing’s most recognizable super middleweights.
As a proud Puerto Rican, Edgar combines natural talent with relentless dedication, carrying the pride of his heritage into his training and fights. Every training camp, every fight, and every challenge has fueled his pursuit of becoming a world champion. His confidence inside the ring is matched by the discipline and preparation behind the scenes, making him one of the sport’s most exciting competitors.
History
Edgar began boxing at the age of seven after his father introduced him to the sport. Growing up in the Lower East Side of Brooklyn, he soon found a strong passion for boxing and dedicated himself to the craft.
Inspired by ambitious fighters such as Mayweather Jr. and Miguel Cotto, he dedicated himself to mastering his craft. This experience laid the foundation for his success, and he gained attention for his impressive performances inside the ring.
As he progressed through the amateur ranks and into the professional spotlight, he gained attention for his devastating punching power and aggressive fighting style. Today, he continues to compete against the sport’s top talent while proudly representing Brooklyn, Puerto Rico, and everyone who has believed in his journey from the very beginning.

Edgar believes success comes with the responsibility to give back. Throughout his career, he has supported numerous charitable initiatives and community organizations, using his platform to bring awareness to important causes.
One organization close to his heart is the Cristian Rivera Foundation, where he sits as a board member. CRF is a nonprofit dedicated to funding research and raising awareness of Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (D.I.P.G.) and Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), two pediatric brain tumors that primarily affect children.
Through fundraising events, public appearances, and advocacy efforts, Edgar has helped amplify the foundation’s mission while, as a board member, encouraging others to support children and families impacted by DIPG/DMG. One of his most memorable moments occurred in 2022, when he invited CRF Warrior Jesslyn Silva into the ring at Madison Square Garden, celebrating her courage and resilience in front of thousands. His continued commitment reflects his passion for supporting children and families affected by D.I.P.G./DMG.
